Awareness of social movements and issues like Black Lives Matter, Pride, and climate change is more prominent than ever before. As these movements transform our world, many brands and organizations are wondering how they can engage meaningfully. Or perhaps if they can engage at all.
Scott had the opportunity to discuss brand engagement in the Black Lives Matter movement and the realities of brand activism in 2020 with Calgary-based communicator and public relations professional Eric Peters.
This was a big conversation. So we’re breaking it into four parts that we will post over the next two weeks. Check out Part 1 below:
As a public relations professional based in Calgary, Alberta, Eric has been a political campaign strategist for candidates at all levels. He has also been a political staffer at Calgary City Council and in Edmonton at the Provincial Legislature. Eric now consults various organizations and provides strategic communications, crisis, and reputation management advice in both the public and private sectors.
Check back for Part 2 on Thursday!
